Using Video for SEO
Whether you are using video on your Website, YouTube, or other locations, you want to ensure that your videos are optimized properly from an SEO perspective. Many people don’t realize that YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world. If you’re looking to drive traffic to your website, it’s vital to use as many channels as possible from ranking well in Google and YouTube.
Optimizing Your Video
The first thing that you want to do is ensure that you have a clear understanding of the keyword that you want to optimize your video for before you even shoot your video.
Get started by performing your keyword research as we’ve outlined in previous posts as a search engine optimization company. Once you have an understanding of the keyword that you want to rank for, include your keyword at the beginning and end of your video and even in between if possible. Then, get your video transcribed, so that the text can be read by search engines, such as YouTube.
Next, write your video title and include your keyword in the title. For example, if our keyword was “SEO Packages”, we could use SEO Packages that Get Results as the title.
Next, create the description of your video and be sure to include your keyword in your description. For example, we could use “Check this video out for a complete understanding of the latest SEO Packages to get your business ranking in less time!”
Once your video is ready to go, upload it to YouTube with the transcription. If you are hosting the video on your site, use a service like Wistia to ensure that your video streams freely and professionally.
